Hey all!!! i'm back from a 2 week vacation!!! had lots of fun took way too many pictures and got a much needed break from the computer and editing. but now i have a lot to catch up on.

but first i want to let everyone know that i have started a new blog it's still a work in progress but i will be no longer posting on this blog. so you can find me HERE from now on!! unfortunately not all the wonderful comments you all left me came over when i transferred the blog. but i want to thank everyone who has given me blog love over the last year and a half. So THANKS!!!

so over the next couple weeks i will be here editing sessions that i'm behind on, catching up on my weekly photo challenge and looking forward to second shooting a wedding with the talented Michele Bowman in the near future!!

These kids are so adorable and fun and full of personality. i had the opportunity last fall to take some of just the two of them but this time mom and dad joined in for the fun...actually the grandparents stopped in for a few too!!

We met last week in historic amherstburg for a family session. it was a gorgeous night but very warm. The kids did great and we ended the night with some ice cream .. this is the second session in a row that has ended this way...hmm a new trend i think. thanks guys for being so patient for your sneak peek. Here are a few of my favs!

met up with my contest winners this past weekend. we had a really fun night!! beautiful warm sunny weather too. those weathermen were threatening us with thunderstorms all day but they just didn't come..thankfully. i already posted one pic on sunday of the youngest of the family...here are a few more..

on a side note..i am getting super behind on my editing..i've been so busy these last couple weeks...i have 6 sessions to edit. i have 2 more waiting to put up blog posts. so i just wanted to let you all know i'm workin on them!!! almost done one and i can move on to the next..also in the processes of getting a new blog. everything seems to happen at once. thanks for your patience!!

oops missed fridays day of posting for the weekly challenge..it's been a busy week. won't bore you with the details but believe me it was busy and i totally forgot about this challenge. so today during our father's day celebration i was watching my youngest son sit in this chair and watch his big brother swim. i thought it was so cute and then the lightbulb went off...CHAIRS!!.. no swimming for this little guy he broke his finger earlier in the week...

I had the privilege of spending the morning with this sweet baby girl!! she was so good and is so cute. she was sleeping so nicely when i got there posed for a few and then had a good feeding and went into a milk induce coma. she was all mine after that!!!

Had the pleasure of spending some time with these two lovely girls!!! It was hot and muggy and we were being eaten alive by mosquitoes!!! crazy mutant mosquitoes.. i think they handled it better then i did.

my kids definitely got their sweet tooth from me. i wish that wasn't the case but it is. my youngest probably craves the sweet stuff the most. candy was in the top 10 of his first words. he would eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner if i let him. So for this weeks challenge i thought of what he has been asking for a lot lately and that is ice cream. He loves it!!! we don't usually have it in the house so i took him and his older sister to get some so i could take some pictures... of course they both wanted nothing to do with my planned ice cream shoot and the ice cream parlor was packed. so we went outside and i just let them be and snapped a few of the youngest. my daughter ended up dropping hers so the above poem was totally fitting.

this is the second time i met with this family for pictures..the first time was to meet this sweet little guy!. But this time it was the entire family's turn!! It was a hot and sticky day...lots of bugs and lots of pollen. yikes!! but they were troopers!!! i know that i will never forget to take allergy meds before a shoot in a field again... here is a big peak into this family's session!! Hope you like it!

almost forgot to mention that this family was the 2nd place winners in my photo contest i held last month so thank you to everyone that voted for them!!

so it's week 3 of the 52 week challenge...and this week's theme is books. i used to read a lot more then i do now. most of the books i read now a days are childrens books. but i do get a real novel in once in a while. usually only when i'm away on vaction. i think my favorite book would have to be Little Women. love that one!! Anyways i had a few ideas of what i would do for this weeks theme. i'm using my first attempt cause well the others didn't ever happen. The flu or something has entered my house yesterday. yuck!! think i might hide in my room with a good book! ha!

here are some more pics of this sweet little baby girl. i took these about a month ago and only posted one from that shoot so i wanted to share a few more. this baby's momma is a very good friend and we've gotten together a few times since to get more pics but add her other two kids and mine and they turned out to be playdates instead of photoshoots. next time we are leaving the kids with their grandmas!!! can't believe it's already been a month!!!

some photog friends kate and whitley decided to start doing a weekly photography challenge. click on their names if you want to read about it. basically there is a theme for each week and we take one picture that represents that theme. some upcoming themes are going to be: trees, books, candy/treats/desserts, chair....

so the theme this week is time. i had trouble thinking of what to do but then i thought of this song. it's one i've always loved. i had something totally different pictured in my head for the image but it didn't happen. still love this shot though...

Sooo I totally creeped leanne's facebook to find a title for this blog post. She is always putting these little phrases or portions of songs as her status. when i saw this one i knew it was perfect. we've been blessed with a pretty snow free winter up until the last few weeks that is. i like the snow to a point... but not when it comes to shoveling it. anyone with an extra snow blower feel free to drop it off on my driveway!

Well i missed my Christmas post but still wanted to wish all my friends, family, clients, blog readers a very Merry Christmas!!! Here is a peak into our Christmas Holiday as we celebrate by spending time with family, opening presents, eating turkey and cookies, visiting santa, decorating the tree...etc. Most importantly we remembered the birth of Jesus our Saviour and Lord!!

I was asked by Karen Burkoski to take some pictures for an organization that gives service dogs to children with autism. Here is a little bit of info about autism and about these special dogs.

What Is Autism?

Autism is a developmental disability that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges. Autism knows no racial, ethnic, or social boundaries; family income levels; lifestyle choices; or educational levels, and can affect any family and any child.
A new case of Autism is diagnosed every 20 minutes…67 children per day. In 2003 the Centres for Disease Control (CDC) estimated that 1/150 children would be diagnosed with Autism. Today, a new study by the American Academy of Paediatrics says it is actually closer to 1/91. That is more children than will be diagnosed with AIDS, diabetes, and cancer combined…And There Is No Cure!

Why An Autistic Assistant K9?

- improve safety and security at home, in public, and at school.
- help to prevent the child from bolting into traffic or other dangerous situations.
- provide independence, allowing the child to walk holding their dog rather than a parent's hand.
- lend support and a calming influence to the child as they cope in highly stressful situations and changes in routine.

- help improve socialization skills by bridging the gap between children with autism and society.

this was my second time taking pictures for this little darling. she was such a good girl. mom said she wouldn't sit too long before she would topple over. but baby "E" proved her wrong and sat for such a long time. she finally had had enough of the sitting and we finished her session. we had a lot of fun!! my sister tagged along to try to get a smile out of her. she succeeded!

My first blog post!! so exciting! i've been trying to get website up and running...much harder then i ever thought. so instead of rushing to do that i've decided i would start with a photography blog.
